NO. 09 · RACE CONTROL · OWN TEAM · LIVE SINCE SEPTEMBER 2026 · AR
My racing team handled sign-ups, standings and stint planning in scattered messages and spreadsheets. Now a Discord bot does it, in the channel where the team already is.
- Starting point
- Sim It eSports Racing, my own team of about thirty drivers. Everything ran through scattered messages and spreadsheets, and nobody had an overview.
- What I built
- A Discord bot plus a website. Race sign-up with one button, a monthly standing that is never kept by hand again, weekly hotlap challenges, stint and crew planning for long races, and applications from new drivers. One rule sits hard in the code: the bot never publicly names who has not replied.
- Who uses it
- About thirty drivers, every week.
- Reads and writes in
- Discord. Reads lap times from Garage 61 and result files from Le Mans Ultimate.
- Built with
- Discord.js, Next.js, Supabase, Railway, Vercel. Over 1,300 automated tests.
- From plan to live
- 9 to 11 September 2026. Since 29 September 2026 simitesports.com is the team's site.
- Live at
- simitesports.com
Racing is my hobby, but this is here for one reason: from plan to live in three days, and it has run every week since for thirty people who say so immediately when it stutters.
